Tehran, YJC. Oil Minister says 17 South Pars phases are under construction and that they will need $20 billion to be done.
Iran’s Minister of Oil Bijan Namdar Zanganeh who was
speaking in meeting with South Pars official in Bushehr on Thuresday said "There
has been much good effort in expanding the South Pars. We are hopeful that
within the time allocated the phases would be complete.”
"The South Pars is very important in providing gas for the
country’s energy package. We have to try to do the job as soon as possible,” he
asserted.
Zanganeh added "One of the most important plans in the Oil
Ministry is to accomplish the South Pars phases that are under construction.”
The Oil Minister pointed out that currently 17 of the South
Pars phases are under construction.
"So far $30 billion has been spend on the phases which will
need another $20 billion to be completed,” he mentioned.
Zanganeh then added "We are trying to bring the projects
home within the next 3 or 3-and-half years.”
