Tehran, YJC. Rouhani says his administration will be giving special importance to the rural share of the country’s economy.
President Hassan Rouhani who has traveled to Khorramabad,
Luristan addressed a congregation of the province’s rural representatives on Wednesday
afternoon.
"The rural is featured with beauty from clothing to manners
and ethics,” said President Rouhani, providing comments on the values of rural
life.
"Humanity and Islam try to preserve such a beauty. Religion is
not to give new things to man, but rather to preserve and to revive what is innately
there,” he added.
"The rural sunset and sunrise are much different than those
of the urban,” he asserted, adding "there are great cultural and ethical values
to the rural life which we have to be preserved.”
The president then addressed the economic role of the rural
and said "There was a time when every morning people in towns expected their
fruits, their dairy products, and their meat to arrive from the province; as well
as their cloth and artifact which were made there. It was so that the rural was
mainly the producer and the town the end user.”
"Traditionally, in the town-province trade, it was always
the province which had the upper hand and the side which made money,” he further
pointed out and said "now we have to find out where the problem is,” stressing
the need to help the country’s rural areas back to their proper economic place.
President Rouhani also addressed the need to help develop
rural areas in order to prevent migration to towns as a way to help the rural
economy.
He also stated that his administration will be taking
special care of the needs of people from rural areas such as those in the
health section.
