TEHRAN, Nov 24_France’s anti-government Yellow Vests marched nationwide in Act 2, Year 2 as many were still recovering from the incredible brutality, tear gas, water cannons and mass arrests at last week’s one-year anniversary.

Yellow Vests march on Act 2, Year 2TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club(YJC)_The government revoked the Paris demonstration permit minutes before the march was supposed to begin, and then kettled thousands of Yellow Vests for hours. Politicians have openly accused the government of purposely provoking and escalating the violence in order to discredit the movement.

France has been shocked by high-quality footage from last week which showed a man losing his eye from a policeman’s tear gas grenade, even though he was just speaking peacefully with other protesters.

The first trial for police brutality against Yellow Vests finally got started this week, even though well over 3,000 protesters have been hurt including 1,000 with critical injuries.

The Yellow Vests’ total independence from other social movements is decreasing. Many joined a national march in Paris calling for an end to violence against women.

On December 5th a general strike will begin to try and force the government to withdraw its radical, universal pension system reforms. Many believe the strike could be the biggest since 1995, and many unions have already signed on.
