Tehran, YJC. Iran national soccer coach says he is happy about the draw against Nigeria.
Speaking at the press conference following the Iran-Nigeria
match on Monday evening, Iran’s coach Carlos Queiroz said "We got through a
tough game. But as I had said we were looking for points which we got. Now it
is the time to enjoy this one point and then think of the following matches.”
Queiroz added "As I had said it was a tough match for us,
but I had said also before the game that we wanted to make a good start. We played
attentively and with high morale and managed to generally control the well-integrated
Nigeria team.”
"It seems that your strategy for the next two games will be
more difficult than the match against Ngeira,” Queiroz was asked by a reporter
when he answered "I would be happy to answer that in the next press conference.
We are too tired now and if you would allow us we would like to enjoy the one
point we have attained. We have to congratulate the players on both sides for
performing a good game. Maybe you would have like to see 4 or 5 goals scored,
but I needed my team to get points out of this game.”
