Tehran, YJC. Iranian President says the country will answer regional violence in proper time.

Hassan Rouhani speaking at a ceremony named Expectancy and Hope pointed to recent regional developments and said "Why do a group of extremist terrorists treat people that way? I hope that no one has seen videos of the savage things that have been done in Iraq and Syria. It is a pity that these people call themselves crusaders of Islam.”

"I am puzzled how some people introduce false judgment to sow the seed of violence in the people’s minds, leading brotherhood into disagreement and schism. What will they gain of disagreement? Why do they try to return to the past ways? The ways of the past are not retrievable,” he exclaimed.

The President added "We, as the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, will not put up with violence and terror. We will fight violence and terror across the region and the world.”

He also pointed to the first anniversary of his election as President and said "Months before last June despair had swept the country. People would ask if there was any hope about elections. They kept blaming me for having signed up. They would ask if I did not know how the polls worked. But the public vitality and the historic word of the leader who said votes are people’s right, and then asked those who disagreed with the state to vote for Iran, days came then when vitality and hope flooded the poll booths.”

"Last year we told the world that our competition was going to be fair, that we would not stand against each other, but rather would stand beside each other at the booths,” he said.
