Tehran, YJC. Iran’s Foreign Ministry says the country will be extending its support to Iraq against Daesh.

The Deputy Foreign Minister in Arab and African Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran said "We are sure that the Iraqi armed forces will powerfully crush terrorists,” adding "We will strongly support Iraq against terrorists.”

Hossein Amir Abdollahian providing comments on the seizure of the Turkish embassy in Mosul said "We strongly condemn the kidnap of the Turkey consulate’s diplomats and staff in Mosul.”

The Turkish embassy in Mosul was guarded by 40 when it was seized by 90 Daesh members.

Reports say that after Daesh seized Nineveh province and made advances toward Tikrit, Saladin, and other areas, the Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki ordered forces on guard.

The Iraqi parliament is going to hold a special convention on Thursday to discuss the situation.
