Tehran, YJC. Iran’s Foreign Ministry says the country will be extending its support to Iraq against Daesh.
The Deputy Foreign Minister in Arab and African Affairs of
the Islamic Republic of Iran said "We are sure that the Iraqi armed forces will
powerfully crush terrorists,” adding "We will strongly support Iraq against
terrorists.”
Hossein Amir Abdollahian providing comments on the seizure
of the Turkish embassy in Mosul said "We strongly condemn the kidnap of the
Turkey consulate’s diplomats and staff in Mosul.”
The Turkish embassy in Mosul was guarded by 40 when it was
seized by 90 Daesh members.
Reports say that after Daesh seized Nineveh province and
made advances toward Tikrit, Saladin, and other areas, the Iraqi Prime Minister
Nouri al-Maliki ordered forces on guard.
The Iraqi parliament is going to hold a special convention
on Thursday to discuss the situation.
