Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister in Arab and African Affairs who visited Egypt to attend the Sisi inauguration said "There was a very constructive talk with the Saudi Arabia Deputy Foreign Minister in Egypt. We thanked the Saudi Foreign Minister for inviting Mr. Zarif and the measures to be done for the trip to take place were discussed.”
Hossein Amir Abdollahian who was speaking in
interview with Mehr News Agency added "In a brief meeting with the Saudi Crown
Prince Salman Abdulaziz In the sidelines of the inauguration of the new
Egyptian President Mr. el-Sisi the two countries’ leaders regards for each
other as well as those of Mr. President were delivered. Besides that, it was
mutually stressed that Tehran and Riyadh desire but beneficence for each other
and progress for the region.”
"Also as
we met the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Abdulaziz bin Abdullah we expressed
gratitude to the Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al Faisal for inviting Dr. Zarif
and discussed the suitable time for the two foreign ministers to meet,”
Abdollahian further stated.
