TEHRAN, August 12 - Russia have booked a seat in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games after defeating Iran in straight sets in Saint Petersburg.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) -The 2019 Volleyball Nations League Champions were the better side of the match in the opening set and grabbed it 25-18.
It was a close contest in the 2nd set, but the Russians kept up the momentum and finished it 25-23 in their favor.
Team Iran showed a reasonable performance and took a 20-17 lead in the 3rd before the hosts fought back and managed to finish it 25-23.
Iran should continue their qualification matches in Asia in order to find a spot in the Tokyo 20-20 Olympic Games.
