Tehran, YJC. Foreign Ministry says Iran is ready to cooperate with the Nigerian government to solve the Boko Haram kidnapping case.
The Nigerian Ambassador to Iran met Iran’s Deputy Foreign
Minister in Arab and African Affairs on Monday.
Tukur Mani and Hossein Amir Abdollahian discussed the Boko
Haram kidnap case in this meeting.
Expressing condolences over the incident, Abdollahian stated
that Iran is ready for all kinds of assistance to help the Nigerian government
in dealing with the problem.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister in Arab and African Affairs
also maintained that the fifth convention by the two countries’ joint
operations committee will be a unique opportunity for both sides to expand
relatiohns.
The convention is going to be held in the Nigerian capital
Abuja in the near future.
Tukur Mani in turn thanked Iranian officials for their
statements condemning the terrorist Boko Haram act and expressing sympathy with
the families of the kidnapped girls.
"It has been reported to the Nigerian officials how the
Iranian nation and government have sympathized and how they have condemned the
act. They as well have expressed their gratitude to the people and government
of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he added.
