Tehran, YJC. Jabbari says Iran will increase its crude oil production if oversees demand increases.
Director of the Oil Ministry’s Office of Coordination and
Production Monitoring of Oil and Gas said that the amount of crude oil to be
produced is a function of the general policies outlines by the Oil Ministry
board of directors.
Amir Masoud Jabbari Rad stated "Having in mind the efforts
that have been made, there is the readiness to increase crude oil production. We
are only waiting for the international atmosphere to open in which case there
will be no problem in realizing the national oil company’s production plans.”
Asked if the minister’s word about increasing production by
700 barrels will be realized he said "First we will have to think of increasing
the demand for production. There was this opportunity, by the way. It was only let
down for a while for some reason.”
Also providing comments on the country’s gas production he
expressed optimism that before the winter Iran will increase its gas production
by 100 million m3.
"In the last one year much has been done to expand the 5
developing phases of the South Pars gas field. We have told the contractors to
provide us that amount of gas and they have told us they will,” Jabbari Rad asserted.
