Tehran, YJC. Oil official says Iran will be producing Euro 4 gas by 2015 to end the need for import.
Abbas Kazemi, CEO of the
National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, in interview with Nasim
Online said "The corrective measures to increase the quality and quantity of
gas produced in Iran are going on. As the Setareh Khalij Fars refinery which
only produce Euro 4 gasoline joins the production, the country’s gasoline
quality will be agreeably improved.”
He further said "As the
Setareh Khalij Fars joins the production cycle, there will be no need neither
to import gas nor to produce it at refineries.”
Kazemi stated that the
Oil Ministry is planned to grow independent in gasoline production by the next Iranian
year.
He said "We are
optimistic that the first 120-thousand-barrel phase of the Setareh Khalij Fars refinery
will be operational in the second half of this year, which will add to the
country’s Euro 4 gas production 12 million liters a day; which means that we
will practically be needing no gas import.”
