The Rouhani administration with its "active diplomacy” approach tried to ease tensions between Iran and the West so that it would be capable of thinking of some remedy to the country’s economy.
The 11th Oil Ministry started talks
with the world’s giant oil companies in order to bring them back to the Iranian
market.
It was expected that coming to agreement with the
West on Iran’s nuclear program would give the country the chance to enjoy
cooperation on strategic areas such as oil, gas, and petrochemicals.
But despite the fact taht the West has delayed
in fulfilling its claims to remove sanctions, Iran is still finding much
difficulty to find the basic material for its different industries, including
oil.
One of the main afflictions the country has had
in the past few years has been how to provide the catalysts needed for its
refineries in order to produce gasoline.
The Isfahan refinery which was going to produce
Euro 4 gas by using catalysts provided by an American company is now facing a
situation where the American party does not seem to be intending to do its
part.
Now Iran says that it is going to rely on
domestic capabilities to produce gas.
Abbas Kazemi, CEO of the National Iranian Oil
Refining and Distribution Company, in interview with Mehr News Agency said "Due
to the sanctions imposed, the production of the gasoline catalyst is started in
cooperation with domestic producers.”
"It is expected that by September the catalyst
will be produced,” he maintained.
