Tehran, YJC. Araqchi has said Iran will never yield to the US urge to enter Iran’s missiles into its nuclear deal.

Top Iranian nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi attended the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee session on Sunday.

Committee member Ebrahim Aqamohammadi has given a brief account of what the Iranian diplomat said among lawmakers.

"Mr. Araqchi maintained that one of the main reasons for the negotiations to fail was the US insistence on Iran’s long-range missiles,” the lawmaker said.

Aqamohammadi added "Mr. Araqchi asserted that the negotiation team was in no way willing to discuss the long-range missiles in this round of talks, nor will it give way to the US demand upon further negotiations.”

The National Security and Foreign Policy Committee member then added "We expect the Foreign Ministry never to agree to the US demand to hold talks on our missile abilities. Both long-range and short-range missiles of the armed forces are the country’s red lines, something which has frequently been mentioned. Americans may also like to know that if they introduce such issues to the negotiations, the talks are likely to arrive at a dead end.”
