Tehran, YJC. DIHK Vice President has proposed to open a bank in Iran.
The
Vice President of the Dutch Industrial and Commerce Chamber (DIHK) met Iran’s
Deputy Minister of Economy on Saturday.
Behrooz
Alishiri providing comments on his visit with the German businessman said "It
is a pity that in the past two years, due to global situations the volume of
trade between Iran and Germany has decreased. The two countries’ officials,
chambers of industry and commerce in particular, have to work harder to take
the countries’ relations back to the normal level as soon as possible.”
"There
is no restriction for foreign investment in Iran. Foreign investors can like Iranian
ones invest in any of the free sections and take part in economic projects,” Iran’s
Deputy Minister of Economy said.
He further
stated in answer to a question by the German delegation if German banks can
start operation in Iran "According to the law there is no restriction to launch
a German bank in Iran, be it an office, a branch, or an entirely independent
bank. The investors would better contact the foreign investment centers so that
their job may be facilitated.”
The
DIHK VP in turn expressed pity over the decline in Iran-Germany’s trade levels
and hoped that with the incumbent administration’s approach in favor of global
cooperation, grounds would be laid for the private section to start business in
Iran.
