Tehran, YJC. Supreme Leader consultant says Iran’s defense system no longer restricts itself to the country’s geographical borders.

Major General Yahya Safavi said "Iran’s influence has moved away from Iraq and Syria to the Mediterranean. It is the 3rd time that Persia’s influence is extending over to the Mediterranean. Our line of defense is no longer Shalamcheh. Our defense line is the south of Lebanon, border with Israel. Our defense line has reached the Mediterranean shores to hover above Israel. The West are afraid of Iran’s influence which extends from the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean.”

The Supreme Leader’s High Consultant in Military Affairs further stated "Syria is like a bridge that connects northern Africa to Asia. There are three levels to the Syrian crisis. The first is the international level where the US and EU are in contention with Russia and China. The second is the regional level where Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, and Jordan are in conflict with the Islamic Republic of Iran. And there is the third, domestic level where the government, Army, and national forces are in conflict with some thousands of Takfiri terrorists.”

"It is proven that the US, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar, and EU countries’ efforts to overthrow Bashar Assad have met failure; a failure which is a strategic defeat for the Western, Arab, and Zionist front and a big victory for the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Safavi asserted.
