Tehran, YJC. President says Saudi Arabia has rather to consider regional issues if it seeks improving relations with Iran.

Hassan Rouhani appeared on the state TV on Tuesday evening to answer a number of questions regarding his administration’s foreign and domestic policy.

Regarding Iran’s relations with Saudi Arabia, President Rouhani said "There is no obstacle on our side. Saudi Arabia’s problem is not Iran, but rather the region. We hope that they realize regional situations and would come to know that peace is achievable through removing terrorists.”

"We need a culture of integrity. Shiite, Sunni, and all the religious minorities of Iranian ethnicities are Iranians. They enjoy equal rights. All sides that agree to the constitution and act within its framework are dear and respectable. Even the government’s pros and cons who observe the ethical and religious ethics are dear and respectable,” Rouhani said in answer to a question regarding religious and ethnic diversity in Iran.

Asked about the 11th administration’s approach to the West and its ongoing nuclear talks he stated "There are these people who believe that we will be in war with the world forever, especially in military warfare; meaning that we will never be able to neutralize our relations with the world. I do not buy that. This does not mean that the entire world will be in friendly relations with us, though. In particular, our situations in regard to the US will be tough. A country which has had, and still does have, an inimical approach to us; issues with such a country are not to be solved this soon.”
