TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Israeli warplanes targeted some positions in the southern areas of Gaza strip early on Thursday.
Several explosions were heard in the eastern part of Rafah, a southern city in the coastal enclave, according to Alalam news channel.
Israelies claimed the attack was in reaction to a rocket fire from Gaza to Nirim, an Israeli town located near the border with the Gaza Strip, about 7 kilometers east of Khan Yunis.
No report has yet been released about possible Palestinian casualties.
In recent weeks, the Israeli forces have launched several attacks on Gaza strip by fighter jets, helicopters, and artillery.
The Zionist regime has started a new round of aerial attacks on the coastal enclave since March 2017.
Israel has waged three wars on Gaza since 2008, including the 2014 offensive, which left more than 2,200 Palestinians dead and over 11,100 others injured.
Israeli fighter jets frequently bomb Gaza. The Israeli military also uses drones over the impoverished region either to monitor and photograph Palestinians in the blockaded coastal enclave or launch aerial attacks against targets.
