TEHRAN, Jun 9 - German Foreign Minister said on Saturday that Berlin, the EU and London vow to preserve Iran's nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Addressing a meeting in Baghdad, Heiko Maas underlined the importance of removing tensions and inviting all parties to maintain peace and exercise self-restraint.

He added that miscalculations, misunderstandings and provocative acts will leave unpredictable consequences.

Escalation of tensions over the past few weeks has made European countries to take action in order to remove misunderstandings and tensions, he noted.

He went on to say that Iran's nuclear deal is worth attempting to be preserved.

According to Iran Press, Maas also held a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi. During the meeting, the German Foreign Minister stressed that the visit is an indication of the decision made by Berlin, Paris and London for preserving Iran's nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Iraqi Official also emphasized that Baghdad supports any measure which is aimed at security and the stability of the region. Adil Abdul-Mahdi also added that Baghdad also is going to send delegations and messages to Tehran Washington and Europe.

Attaching the importance of Iran's nuclear deal, Maas is to hold consultations on security and stability of the region. German top diplomat is also going to meet the Iraqi President Barham Salih to find ways out of current critical conditions.

According to Germany foreign ministry, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif are slated to hold a meeting in Tehran on Monday.

Referring to Maas' regional tour, the German Foreign Ministry said that he is to hold meeting with Zarif in Tehran on Monday.
