TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - "Iran has no plan for leaving OPEC and the country regrets that some of the organization's members use OPEC as a political tool to counter Iran and Venezuela," Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said in an interview on Saturday.

"Iran and Venezuela are among the countries which founded OPEC," Iranian Oil Minister added, Iran press reported.

"There are two countries in the region which took hostile policies against Iran and turned OPEC to a political organization. They have used oil as a weapon in the international market and in the international community," Zanganeh noted.

"Oil is not a weapon and should not be used as a political tool. Using oil as a weapon would damage all members of OPEC and also the organization," Iranian Oil Minister said.

Zanganeh said: "I believe that these two countries lead OPEC to disintegration by making divisions in the organization and between the members, but it is not what we want. We want to save OPEC."
