TEHRAN, Jun 5 - Iranian Mohammad Hosseini and Hossein Soltani claimed two medals in the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Junior World Championships.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Hosseini claimed a silver medal by lifting a total of 349kg in the 89kg. He lifted 157kg in snatch and 191kg in clean and jerk.
Don Opeloge from Saudi Arabia won the gold with a 349kg and the bronze medal went to Poland’s Bartlomiej Stefan Adamus with a total of 346kg.
Soltani also seized a bronze at the 81kg by lifting 154kg in the snatch, 191kg in the clean and jerk and a total of 354kg.
Latvia’s Ritvars Suharevs won the gold medal and Columbian Juan Felipe Solis Arboleda claimed the silver.
The 2019 edition of IWF Junior World Championships got underway in Fijian capital of Suva on June 1 with the participation of 248 athletes from 47 countries.
The event will be finished on June 8 in men’s and women’s categories.
