Tehran, YJC. Following a major policy to increase population, Health Ministry has said it will facilitate normal delivery.

"With this directive, the patient will be paying nothing for either medicine, equipment, or normal delivery services,” stated Health Care Deputy of the Ministry of Health, maintaining that governmental hospitals will be giving free normal labor services.

Aliakbar Sayyari who was speaking in interview with Nasim Online said "Labor delivery services will be free across country starting May 5.

The decision follows the Supreme Leader’s order that the country needs to increase its population.

Sayyari stated "The time span between marriage and the first child is 3.5 years which needs to shrink. The Health Ministry’s main policy in terms of demographic reform is to take care of the mother’s health during labor and delivery as well as the birth of healthy children. That is why we are offering in-labor and birth services.”

"Currently the time difference between the first and the second child is 5 years which also needs to be decreased,” he asserted.
