Tehran, YJC. Jafari says while the IRGC is not physically present in Syria, it stretches its aid to the Syrian government.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said "The IRGC is not in field in Syria, but our help to the Syrian government is in the form of consultation and conveyance of experience.”

The commander of the IRGC added "The IRGC guards the Islamic Revolution inside and outside the country and it is not restricted to inside Iran.”

Jafari believed that war in Syria is going on as "the front of truth is the side gaining victory”.

He further added "To the country’s southeastern borders the IRGC is conducting engineering operations so that we will not experience unpleasant incidents. Security came to the northwestern and southeastern borders after the protection was organized by the IRGC and relegated to public forces.”

The IRGC has not introduced itself to the economic sphere. Its activities concern rather construction, which is different than the field of economy, the IRGC commander asserted, adding "For its huge power and its Basij, the IRGC has acted in cooperation with all governments.”

"Our grudge against the government was that due to abundant capabilities inside the country it could tap domestic capacities, especially those of the IRGC, in the construction sphere,” Major General Jafari stated, adding "Maybe the government has not had the time to ask us anything as it is busy with the second stage of the targeting and some other issues. We hope that in the future the great capabilities of the IRGC and the Basij are used.”
