Tehran, YJC. Announcement signed by 200 Majlis members criticizes UK’s recent sanctions on Iranian figures.
The
Iranian parliament Majlis has criticized the UK for imposing sanctions on a
number of Iranian figures by Britain’s HM Treasury in an announcement signed by
200 lawmakers.
The
Islamic Consultative Assembly News Agency reports that the announcement goes "The
British government whose record of animosity toward Iran is globally known and
whose unrelated interference with our domestic affairs has become clear to all
in past decades has in recent days imposed sanctions, as it would say, a number
of incumbent and former officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran, including
two members of parliament.”
It adds
"Such an action although lacking influence on our domestic affairs, shows
support for non-commitment by members of the P5+1 to claims made in the Geneva agreement,
showing that they will never stop their animosity with the Islamic Iran.”
"We
hope that such actions by the P5+1 members which have been witnessed for many
times especially by the US and UK increases the sensitiveness of the government’s
negotiation group, providing grounds not only for greater action in coping with
such interventions, but also in mustering all powers to tap the country’s domestic
capabilities to meet people’s needs,” the announcement concludes.
