Tehran, YJC. Ministry of Culture is sending a team to the World Intellectual Property Organization summit.
Deputy Minister of Culture in Legal and Parliamentary
Affairs said that the ministry is dispatching a team of experts to the World
Intellectual Property Organization summit in Geneva next week.
Hassan Noushabadi who was speaking at a press conference in the
sidelines of the Fourth Conference on Intellectual, Literary, and Artistic
Property and Related Rights on Monday morning stressed the need to provide creators
of intellectual property with their needful rights.
He further stated that Iran is preparing a bill to join the
Bern convention as well as the Rome Convention for the Protection of
Performers, Producers of Phonograms and Broadcasting Organizations.
Noushabadi also pointed out that Iran’s version of
regulation on the rights of literary and artistic creators dating back to 1969
is outdated and urged revisions as needed according to present day situations.
