TEHRAN, May 06 - The spokesman for the Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas, said any truce without an end to the blockade of the Gaza Strip would be fragile.

Any ceasefire without end to Israeli blockade of Gaza fragile: HamasTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “Any ceasefire that does not require the (Israeli) occupiers to lift the blockade of the Gaza Strip would be fragile, and the situation could collapse,” Abdul-Latif Al-Qanou said on Monday, according to local Palestinian media.

Other Palestinian resistance groups also said the fight against the Zionist occupiers will never stop unless they respond to the Palestinian people's rightful demands.

The remarks came as some Palestinian officials said a ceasefire agreement has been reached with Israel to end a surge of violence in the Gaza Strip that has led to the deaths of at least 23 Palestinians and four Israelis.

Gaza officials confirmed to Al Jazeera that a deal was reached at 1:30 GMT, and no Israeli air raids on the Palestinian territory have been reported since the deal came into effect.

The officials said Egypt and Qatar helped mediate an end to days of attacks between Gaza and Israel.
There was no confirmation from the Israeli side. However, the Israeli army early on Monday lifted all protective restrictions imposed near the Gaza area during the weekend's flare-up.
