Tehran, YJC. Iranian parliamentary delegation has called off a trip to Europe counting it as a response to the recent anti-Iranian resolution by the EP.
Head of parliamentary relations group of the Islamic
Republic of Iran has in a statement called off a trip in which Iranian parliamentarians
were to visit Europe.
Kazem Jalali’s statement reads "I have to regret that with
efforts made by those who have ill intentions with regard to better relations
between Iran and the EU, especially through a recent unexpected resolution
against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the parliamentary relations group of the Islamic
Republic of Iran has resigned from this trip and the trip will therefore not be
made.”
Addressing
the letter to Mrs. Tarja Cronberg, head of a delegation from the European Parliament
which visited Iran a while back, Jalali has rebuked the EP for calling Iran’s
last year presidential elections undemocratic.
