The President of Iran’s Central Bank Valiollah Seif has departed for Washington DC leading a high-ranking delegation to attend the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund meetings.
The World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund meetings are held two times a year where heads of central banks and economy ministers from around the world meet.
The spring convention is usually held early April and the fall session is held in October each year.
The conference is hosted by a different member each year.
Among the important meetings held so are economic round tables with high-ranking members of the WBG and IMF, the ministers and presidents’ convention of the Intergovernmental Group of Twenty-Four on International Monetary Affairs and Development (G-24), and the G-24 deputies meeting.
Iran regards the occasion as a good opportunity to expand its economic prospects through meetings with global economy leaders.
