TEHRAN, Apr 29 - Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers claimed two more gold medals on Day 2 of the Asian Wrestling Championships in Xi’an, China on Sunday.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Mohammad Reza Geraei defeated China’s Hujun Zhang in the final match of the 72kg.

Saeid Abdevali also beat Indian Singh Harpeet in the final bout of 82kg.

In the 97kg category, Mehdi Aliyari won a bronze medal after beating Alimkhan Syzdykov from Kazakhstan.

On Saturday, Hossein Nouri had claimed the gold medal in the 87kg after defeating Kumar Sunil from India.

Ghasemi Monjezi had also won a gold medal after beating Uzbekistan’s Muminjon Abdullaev in the 130kg.

Iranian wrestlers also won two bronze medals on Saturday.

Saman Abdevali defeated Kudaibergen Tursynov from Kazakhstan in the 63kg and Mohammad Ali Geraei defeated Japanese Naotsugu Shoji by technical fall in the 77kg.

The Asian Wrestling Championships is the Wrestling Asian Championship organized by the Asian Associated Wrestling Committee (AAWC).

The men's tournament began in 1979 and the women's tournament was first staged in 1996, and it has been held every year.
