The Kremlin with regret has taken Washington's decision to suspend the Russian-U.S. presidential commission's work.
"The actions could not cause anything else, but regret," the Russian president's press secretary Dmitry Peskov told the Kommersant newspaper.

"We factually lose channels of bilateral communication on various issues."

The press secretary ruled out the possibility of Moscow taking the initiative to resume work of the commission.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry's spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said there was no logic in the U.S. decision to suspend the Russian-U.S. presidential commission's contacts.

The decision of the American side to halt contacts within the presidential commission to "punish" Russia for its support of the free will expression of Crimean residents, which was in full accordance with the international law, was not so regrettable as surprising with the lack
of elementary logic, Lukashevich noted.
