TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) -The warning comes days after special counsel Robert Mueller released his report on the alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Although the report shows no evidence that Trump’s election campaign colluded with Russia or that he obstructed Mueller’s probe, several committees in the Democratic-controlled House are still investigating the president and his administration.
Democrats have also taken a legal step to see all of Mueller’s evidence from his inquiry, with some members even pushing for the impeachment of Trump just 18 months before the 2020 presidential election.
Meanwhile, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) met on Sunday to discuss the possibility of impeachment proceedings, though they emphasized that making such a decision needs time as their party must deliberate on the contents of the report and the underlying evidence.
Trump, who reacted on Twitter Sunday, also claimed that Democrats' investigations would "waste time," noting they were "costing our Country greatly."
Trump also slammed Mueller on Friday one day after the redacted edition of the much-anticipated 400-page investigation was released. The president said some statements about him in the report "are total bullshit," denouncing the document as the "Crazy Mueller Report."
