Tehran, YJC. Ayatollah Khamenei has granted pardon or reduced sentence to 920 prisoners.
Quoting the Supreme Leader’s website, Mehr News Agency reported that the head of Iran’s judiciary system ayatollah Amoli Larijani in a letter to the Supreme Leader requested amnesty or reduced sentences for 920 prisoners.
These had been considered as qualified by the Judiciary Branch’s Central Committee of Pardon and Exoneration.
The amnesty comes as a tribute to April 1st, the day of the Islamic Republic in Iran which is celebrated as the anniversary of the poll in which Iranians endorsed the Islamic Republic in 1979.
