TEHRAN, Apr 14 - The Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has tweeted to criticize the US costly intervention in the Middle East in support of the Israeli prime minister.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - 'When it comes to conflict in our region, IT'S NOT ABOUT THE MONEY: @realDonaldTrump confessed US has spent $7 trillion here, only to worsen the situation,' Zarif wrote on his Twitter account on Saturday.
He added 'It’s #NetanyahuFirsters always making the wrong choice in his service—at expense of all else—and expecting different results.'
On March 26, US President's proclamation on recognizing the Zionist Regime's sovereignty over the illegally-occupied Golan Heights of Syria has led to a wave of regional and international condemnations.
Back in December 2018, the majority of the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution urging the Israeli regime to withdraw from the entirety of the Syrian Golan Heights.
Earlier, former Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Ghassemi said the US and Trump policy on various issues, including West Asia are clear to everyone, but what's happening on the ground is not necessarily compatible with Trump's stances, intentions, and ideas.
He underlined, 'On the trip, Trump noted that the former presidents of the country spent $7,000 billion in Iraq and that after all cost, they should travel secretly and sneakily to Iraq. It will not be too late for the United States to spend several times more than $7,000 billion, and cannot even go to a country of the region secretly and overnight.'
On April 27, 2018, Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Bashar al-Jaafari, said Syria sovereign right on occupied Syrian Golan, until the line of June 4th, 1967, is non-negotiable, adding Syria’s occupied territory should be completely restored.
