TEHRAN, Apr 06 - Rejecting Washington's contradictory claim against Tehran, Iran's Foreign Mintier said that his country is consistently responsible and peace-seeking nation.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - "Flip-flop par excellence: one day US claims Iran on verge of collapse, the next we’re demonized as a 'Great Power' that threatens NATO," Mohammad Javad Zarif said in a tweet on Friday.
Iran's Foreign Mintier said that US Secretary of State and his boss, make any contradictory claim that fits an occasion but "Iran is consistently responsible & peace-seeking".
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has called on NATO members to get united in the face of what he called emerging threats from Iran, Russia and China.
“We must continue to do so, especially in this new era of great power competition from Russia, from China, and the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he told a meeting of NATO's foreign ministers in Washington on Thursday.
Pompeo also exploited the national emergency in Iran to once again attack the Islamic Republic, claiming on Tuesday that Tehran's response to the floods showed the level of what he called as "mismanagement in urban planning and in emergency preparedness."
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, however, fired back at Pompeo in a statement, which was also posted on his official Twitter page, on Thursday, calling his counterpart's comments as "unprofessional" and "demagogic".
