TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) -The Yancheng government said in a statement posted on its official Twitter-like Weibo account on Wednesday that three employees from Jiangsu Tianjiayi Chemical had "significant responsibility" for the blast.
The suspects have been subjected to "criminal coercive measures," which indicates detention, arrest or being put under house arrest temporarily until police complete investigations.
The blast on March 21 in the city of Yancheng, the eastern province of Jiangsu, was one of the worst industrial accidents in China in recent years.
The firm has a history of violating environmental regulations. The environment and ecology bureau of Yancheng says in 2015 and 2017 the company was fined for breaking rules on solid and water waste management.
On March 31, a similar explosion in the city of Kunshan of the same province killed seven people.
Over 1,000 technology companies and manufacturers are located in Kunshan, about 70 kilometers west of Shanghai. The figure includes a large number of Taiwanese firms.
