Tehran, YJC. Poll has investigated into what people think was ayatollah Khamenei’s most important statement in the past year.

"If the Zionist regime takes a step wrong, the Islamic Republic will reduce Tel Aviv and Haifa to dust,” was people’s answer to a query seeking their opinion on what the Supreme Leader’s most important statement was in the past one year.

A poll carried out during the first two weeks of March by the Supreme Leader’s website people were asked what they believe has been ayatollah Khamenei’s most prominent statement of the year.

Some 14 thousand text messages and 4,500 online comments repeatedly pointed to the below statements.

The third most important statement comes from the time the Supreme Leader endorsed Hassan Rouhani's presidential decree back in the summer of 2013, saying "The great lesson we received from the economic pressure is that we have to strengthen the internal structure of power as much as we can.”

Ayatollah Khamenei’s second most important statement as chosen by the participants in the poll is his denying any bright outlook to the nuclear negotiations, saying "I do not forbid negotiations in specific cases, but I am not optimistic either, because my experience tells so. Americans are untrustworthy, illogical, and false.”

And finally the most important statement of the Supreme Leader in the past one year, people said, was his answer to threats of military attack by Israel, when he said in a public speech in Mashhad nearly one year ago "If they do a damn thing, the Islamic Republic will reduce Tel Aviv and Haifa to dust.”
