Iranians have no negative view about Japanese nation: LarijaniTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Speaking at a meeting with the head of Japan-Iran parliamentary friendship group in Tokyo on Wednesday, Larijani said the bilateral relations between the two countries are based on cultural grounds.

“In the minds of the Iranian people, there is no negative point about the Japanese nation and they are willing to expand the relations with your country,” he said.

However, some countries create problems affecting the relationship that need to be addressed, Larijani stated.

He went on to say that the Japanese parliamentary group can definitely play an effective role in solving such problems.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, Larijani left Tehran for Japan on Monday at the official invitation of the speaker of the Japanese parliament.

Iran and Japan have ramped up efforts in recent years to boost bilateral relations in diverse political and economic fields.

Back in May, Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono reiterated his country’s support for the 2015 nuclear agreement between Tehran and world powers, saying it is important that Iran and other parties maintain the deal.
