TEHRAN, YJC. Islamic Republic of Iran Navy Operations Deputy Commander has said that the 24th fleet has berthed at Zhanjiang, China.

Real Admiral Siavash Jareh said "The 24th fleet consisting of Khark helicopter carrier and Sabalan destroyer has traveled 13 thousand km in 40 days to deliver its message of peace and friendship to East Asia countries and it berthed at Dock 7 at Zhanjian port.”

He added "The 24th fleet has tracked 1,180 commercial and oil-carrying watercrafts on its way as well as 120 military units optically and electronically.”

Jareh said that while in Malacca Strait, the fleet observed an American destroyer with the number DDG106. He added that due to bad weather, the presence of the Iranian fleet in the area surprised the US mariners who asked permission to move close to the fleet.

Rear Admiral Jareh stressed the fact that the presence of the Navy in free waters is according to international regulations, saying "The 24th fleet is accompanied by some of the Imam Khomeini Marine Science University students. While in China, the fleet is scheduled to visit some of the commanders of the Northern Navy Fleet commanders of China as well as visiting some of the Iranian watercrafts in the country and holding sport matches between navy staff members of both countries.”

He added "On its way home, the 24th Fleet will visit another North-east Asian country.”
