TEHRAN, Feb 04 - Iran's Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi said that the pressure of US sanctions can actually speed up Iran's progress in science and technology.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Speaking on the sidelines of a conference in Tehran in an interview with Iran Press on Sunday, Azari Jahromi said: "The message from the success of our space science and technology is clear."
Jahromi added: "Our message is one of peace and space should be used to improve human life, in Iran as well as the entire world."
"If the US has imposed sanctions on us, we can't say it hasn't affected Iran's scientific progress. Certainly, the pressure from US sanctions can actually speed up Iran's progress in science and technology. The sanctions, of course, are a double-edged sword. They can be regarded as an opportunity as well as a hindrance."
Jahromi stated: "God willing we shall take a leap forward in Science and Technology."
"With efforts of our scientists, we will continue to move forward," added Minister of Information and Communication.
