Iran sees no obstacle in boosting ties with Tunisia: Rouhani

TEHRAN, Feb 03 - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani highlighted the importance of the country’s bilateral relations with Tunisia and said closer cooperation between the Islamic Republic and the North African country would serve the interests of both nations.

Iran sees no obstacle in boosting ties with Tunisia: RouhaniTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “We are willing to develop a more amicable relationship between the two nations of Iran and Tunisia and expand the mutual cooperation,” Rouhani said at a meeting with Tunisia’s new ambassador to Iran, Tarek Bettaieb, in Tehran on Saturday.

He further stressed the necessity to use the existing capacities to expand economic relations and encourage the private sectors of the two countries and said Iran and Tunisia can boost bilateral ties in various cultural and scientific fields.

Rouhani also emphasized that there is no obstacle in developing cooperation between Tehran and Tunis.

During the meeting, the Tunisian envy submitted his credentials to the Iranian president and called for closer relations between the two countries.

Expansion of relations with African nations in all political, economic and cultural fields is top on the agenda of Iran's foreign policy.

Rouhani has repeatedly stressed his government's interest in boosting relations with African states.
