Tehran, YJC. Lawmaker has demanded that the government takes measures to aid Iranian workers with extra attention.
Member of labor parliamentary group Mohammad Damadi said "If
there is any chance for Iranian workers under the flow of foreigners to the
labor market, it will come only with much difficulty. Therefore, the government
must not only increase wages, but use support packages for workers.”
Speaking with ICANA he asserted "We have to admit that
workers have the lowest scale of society.”
"If non-Iranian workers do not take the jobs, the workers
would have to go to work at the worst of hours. It is to regret that despite
all the efforts carried out to prevent the employment of non-Iranian workers,
the trend still goes on as before,” Damadi stated.
He added that insurance for the workers would be one of the
main measures to consider, adding "There has been much effort in pursuit of
that, but none has yet come to a result.”
Damadi further stated "Workers are not able to cover heavy health
costs. They will have to do without their days’ food in order to pay for health
costs.”
