Tehran, YJC. Iran’s Foreign Minister has taken position against US Deputy FM on sanctions.
Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who was speaking in a
joint press conference with the Secretary General of the Islamic Cooperation
Organization Iyad bin Amin Madani on Wednesday said in reaction to Wendy
Sherman’s statements about Iran on Tuesday "The US president Barack Obama had
previously said that the US has dreams which will not come true, and since they
are not attainable, the country seeks realistic approaches through
negotiations.”
He added "Sherman may like to review the facts even when
speaking for domestic consumption so that she can avoid talking the impossible.”
The Foreign Minister added that some statements by US
officials are only hindrances to a solution to be reached on Iran’s nuclear
program, asserting "The Islamic Republic of Iran’s nuclear case is
non-negotiable. It is baseless to talk about the nuclear facilities.”
Maintaining that the Iranian negotiation team will not overlook people’s interests, he said "They will be forced to put aside their dreams such as they have done already.”
