Tehran, YJC. Pakistani officials have requested for time to complete the Peace pipeline due to US sanctions.
Pakistan has officially announced that due to sanctions to be imposed by the US, the country cannot complete the Peace pipeline.
The Peace pipeline is a conveyance for natural gas from Iran to Pakistan. The construction procedure has gone through much fluctuation.
The Pakistani government has said that it does not desire letting go of the project while it waits for more favorable conditions to complete it.
A Pakistani delegation which recently visited Tehran has demanded an extension to complete the pipeline.
A deal between the two countries asserts that the gas flow will have to start in December 2014.
If Pakistan fails to meet the deadline, it would have to compensate Iran with $3 million every day.
Iranian officials have said that they will put the matter to consultation.
