Tehran, YJC. Former Irish PM has met Iran’s National Security official.
Former Ireland Prime Minister Bertie Ahern met Alaeddin Boroujerdi,
the Head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Majlis,
on Tuesday morning.
Expressing happiness for his trip to Tehran, Ahern said "Expanding
friendly relations with Iran as a regionally and internationally significant
country is regarded specially by Irish statesmen.”
Expressing pity over unfavorable approach by the EU toward Iran
to take part in the Geneva2 talks on Syria, Ahern asserted that Syria’s ongoing
crisis takes international cooperation to solve.
He also stressed the need for cooperation with Iran to help
solve issues existing in Afghanistan and Iraq.
