Tehran, YJC. Iran’s FM has discussed his recent meeting with US Secretary of State.
Iran’s
Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who has met with US Secretary of State
John Kerry in the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference said "I asserted
to Mr. Kerry that to make the best of the opportunity it is needed that the two
sides abide to the texts and do not publish any other.”
Addressing
concerns that John Kerry had said that the sanctions will continue to exist, Zarif
said in answer to the Mehr reporter "Mr. Kerry maintained that the US
government is bound to strenuously pursue the issue and that it wants it to
bear fruit. There was mention of concerns inside the US. One of these was that
in the states they are worried that with the initial deal, the sanctions will
fall apart.”
The
Foreign Minister further said "In this meeting it was also emphasized that the
sides need to keep to the texts to which we have agreed. The texts agreed upon
are recognized by both sides and they need to adhere only to them rather than publish
secondary texts, because those texts will not be referred to in legal terms. What
today is being enacted is what was settled on November 24 as the Joint Plan of
Action. The agreements we made on that are in no proportion to what has been
published by the White House.”
