Tehran, YJC. Experts are warning the Iranian government against a 40-pct. inflation as it has decided to raise fuel costs.
Economist
Hossein Raqfar says the bad economic foundations were laid in the Hashemi administration
and the trend was to be completed by Ahmadinejad. He says that the Rouhani administration
follows the same faulty policies, making the rise of inflation to 40 percent
not very far-fetched.
He said
"Hashemi started the economic adjustment plan and Ahmadinejad took it to the
full.”
Raqfar
added "We named the structural adjustment and the liberalization of prices the
subsidies targeting and changed the name of privatization and transfers of the
adjustment plan to the 44th Article.”
Mohammad
Hashemi, Akbar Hashemi’s brother, has also warned against a 40-pct. inflation
rate.
The
warnings come at a time when the government is trying to lift a weight off the
low-earning classes by distributing what it calls basket of goods.
