Attackers use magnetic bomb to target police vehicle in Kabul

TEHRAN, Jan 6 - At least three Afghan security personnel were wounded by a magnetic bomb blast in Kabul city early on Saturday.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - A spokesman for Afghanistan's Ministry of Interior, 'Najib Danish' said the incident took place around 7:30 am local time in the vicinity of 16th police district of Kabul.

Danish added that the blast ripped through a police vehicle, leaving at least three security personnel wounded, local Afghan Khaama Press reported.

The wounded security personnel are said to be in a stable condition. No group so far has claimed responsibility of the attack.

Various anti-government armed groups, including Taliban have been using magnetic bombs as a weapon of choice to target the security personnel and government officials in key cities, including Kabul.

Last month, Iran's top security official,the head of the Supreme National Security Council, Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani said Tehran is engaged in negotiations with Taliban to help settle existing security problems in Afghanistan, and will continue with these negotiations in the future.

Also on Saturday 5 January 2019, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met and conferred with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Kabul, with both officials emphasizing on the need for peace in Afghanistan.
