Tehran, YJC. Iranian lawmaker says that arrangements are made for the German agriculture section to start operation in Iran.
Iranian
lawmaker providing comments on the visit paid to Germany by a delegation headed
by Iran’s Minister of Agriculture said "It was decided that a joint workgroup
be formed between Iran and Germany to pursue cooperation between the two
countries in agricultural development.”
Naser
Salehi Nasab who was speaking to ICANA added that the workgroup will have to
prioritize establishing the ways to expand cooperation.
"We
made a trip to Germany to attend the Global Food and Agriculture Forum. Besides
attending the forum, we held a number of meetings with the German Minister of
Agriculture, as well as agricultural companies, agricultural export, import,
and processing cooperatives, and also entrepreneurs,” he stated.
The
Committee for Agriculture, Water, and Natural Resources member further said
that the Minister of Food and Agriculture of Germany Hans-Peter Friedrich has
promised to visit Iran in one month to investigate the ways and means of
agricultural investment in the country.
The
lawmaker quoted Friedrich as having said "Let the Iranian government be not
surprised that in the few months ahead many German companies will be investing
in Iran.”
