Subcutaneous prosthesis to aid treating SCI

Tehran, YJC. Iran’s University of Science and Technology is making a prosthesis that will help SCI patients regain motor skills.

Deputy Science Minister in Research and Technology who was speaking in the sidelines of the 113th Higher Council for Science, Research and Technology convention stated that a prosthesis is being worked on which will help spinal cord patients regain their motor skill.

Fars news agency reports that Vahid Ahamdi said "This project is being carried out by the University of Science and Technology. The organization that will operate the project is the Food and Drug Organization of the Health Ministry.”

He maintained that low funding is the major problem the project is facing. "Despite low funding, the project has so far made 20.7 percent physical progress.”
