TEHRAN, December 22 -The United States tried to push Britain not to mention human rights violations conducted by Saudi Arabia in Yemen, when London had been drafting a resolution for a ceasefire in the Yemeni province of Hudaydah, says a commentator.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) -The United States tried to push Britain not to mention human rights violations conducted by Saudi Arabia in Yemen, when London had been drafting a resolution for a ceasefire in the Yemeni province of Hudaydah, says a commentator.
The United Nations Security Council on Friday passed a resolution to send observers to the province of Hudaydah. A UN advance team will be deployed to Hudaydah for one month to monitor the ceasefire in the port city.
Syed Mohsin Abbas, journalist and political commentator, told Press TV on Saturday that even after three years of Saudi-led massacre of the Yemeni people that this resolution was drafted and deployed, the US has tried to remove the mention of humanitarian crisis in the impoverished country.
“They (American officials) have also forced the British to eradicate any mention of human rights investigation,” Abbas said, adding that the United States continues to pursue its hypocritical attitude when it comes to Saudi Arabia’s crimes against the Yemeni people.
