Boeing, Sikorsky awarded $1.1B for Special Ops helicopter support

TEHRAN, December 22 -Boeing Sikorsky Aircraft Support has been awarded a $1.1 billion contract for support of the Little Bird, Chinook and Seahawk helicopters of the U.S. Special Operations Command.

The contract, announced Thursday by the Department of Defense, covers life cycle contractor support for the MH-6, MH-47 and MH-60 helicopters over a seven-year ordering period.

The contract will become active on Jan. 1, 2019, with the first task order under the contract becoming effective. Boeing Sikorsky will provide support program management, field service representatives, sustaining engineering and spare and repair parts.

Boeing Sikorsky, a joint venture of Boeing Aerospace and Sikorsky, has been obligated $32.8 million at the time of award from fiscal 2019 operations and maintenance funds.

Most of the work on the contract will be done in Fort Campbell, Ky.
